How does Money Tester work?

The technology used to detect counterfeit banknotes is based on the reaction with chemical impurities or additives present in the paper of counterfeit banknotes. This reaction does not take place on the paper of authentic banknotes, since it is a special paper used by the Central Banks of all countries that issue banknotes.

Why does testing on banknotes produce different colors?

The special MONEY TE$TER® technology reacts with both the chemical impurities present in the paper and with most of those contained in the inks. To manufacture counterfeit bills, different types of papers and inks are usually used, which in turn contain a wide series of impurities or additives. The type of impurities present in the paper each time causes different chemical reactions that can be seen through the chromatic traces obtained after carrying out the test. Typically, no trace of color remains on the paper used by central banks to issue authentic banknotes. In some cases, after the test a slight yellow stain may remain that disappears in a short time, due to the absorption capacity of these banknotes.

Why do some bills have no color, even though they are fake?

Yes, on the one hand, research work is multiplying to further increase the measures to combat banknote counterfeiting, on the other, thanks to the continuous evolution of technology, counterfeiters have new strategies such as, for example, make counterfeit bills waterproof by covering them with a microscopic sheet of plastic polymers that prevent the chemical liquid from penetrating the interior of the bill. In these cases, the valuable chemical solution contained in MONEY TE$TER®provides an important piece of information: if the mark remains wet and colorless for more than 20 seconds, it means that the bill we are checking is potentially fake and the same is said in case the wet mark disappears immediately during marking. Furthermore, it is evident that the counterfeiter uses the paper to make authentic banknotes; After the test there are no color marks because there are no chemical impurities for there to be a color mark.

What should I do if I accidentally come into contact with the chemical solution contained in Money Tester?

In general, the chemical solution contained in idtech universal detectors is not dangerous at all. However, in some people, in case of contact with the eyes or skin, irritation could occur, so we advise them to rinse very well with cold water for a few minutes. In any case, as a precaution, you should never ingest the chemical solution and we advise you to store the product out of the reach of children.

How is the Money Tester disposed of once its use cycle has ended?

It must be disposed of in accordance with the regulations in force in your country of residence, in accordance with the collection and recycling of recyclable plastic.

If I use an electronic counterfeit detector, can I still use Money Tester?

Since no detection method can guarantee 100% protection against the collection of counterfeit bills and since most people do not know if they have a counterfeit bill, in case of a positive test result with other instruments, if you check the same bill With MONEY TE$TER® you can count on the results of two complementary instruments (one electronic and the other chemical) that confirm the same result. This will allow you to be more effective and react better to a very suspected counterfeit bill, avoiding any response and any irrational response.
